The advantages of the Biodesign technique

Years of research and product development and the many hundreds of public and private swimming pools that we have built throughout the world have resulted in the development of Biodesign, a patented construction technology of low environmental impact, which has both an extraordinary waterproong quality as well as a superior structural performance. Technical data sheets show how our waterproo¬ng is superior to that used in traditional pools for its elasticity (+300%) and durability, in addition to greater resistance to UV light, ice and chemicals.

The technology

Biodesign structural paving, composed of specially formulated resins and quartz, has a greater mechanical strength than structural concrete. In order to understand their real value, these di erences, which in themselves are clearly superior to the traditional pool-construction systems, must be compared based on their use: in fact, since the Biodesign structure is laid over it, the waterproo¬ng liner when immersed in water, is not subject to the pressure and load of the water itself.

Flexibility

Biodesign technology uses an EPDM waterproof liner which is in contact with the ground and has the following characteristics.

EPDM: a chemically stable material that is completely inert, contains neither polluting additives nor heavy metals, and releases no harmful substances into the environment. The old EPDM installations can be burnt to produce energy (since they do not produce dioxins), eliminated in a dump, or recycled to produce new EPDM products.
Greenpeace recommends EPDM as an alternative to PVC plastic.

Waterproofing Certification

EPDM is a synthetic polymer, which has been increasingly used for over 40 years in the automobile industry and in civil engineering.

It is an elastomeric obtained through co-polymerization of Ethylene, Propylene and diene monomer, which is then vulcanized. The long molecules of rubber are connected by means of crossed chemical ties, forming an elastic, chemically stable product with unbeatable resistance to UV rays, ozone, variations in temperature, and chemical substances.
